English Premier League - A Telenovela! The goal of this paper is to provide an in-depth understanding of a few of the methods in which elite football coach has constructed, and continues to build, his specialist knowledge. Much of the qualitative work which does exist within this field focuses on younger male soccer fans and pathologises, the expertise of female spectators. Drawing on qualitative data in semi-structured interviews with feminine rugby union fans from Leicester, we explore these girls 's enthusiast adventures in the context of promises about the recent 'feminisation' of the late-modern sports audience. Rather, this paper we explore the experiences of mainstream female fans from a sport which is considerably under-researched, English rugby union. The study demonstrates that game has to be analyzed within its socio-historical circumstance to choose whether or not it is ritual! Second, Steve's story is presented, drawing excerpts from field-notes, meeting transcripts and our significant reflection upon them in the context of existing literature.
